Which status are you looking for?
A label such as ACTIVE in a lookup is not a confirmation that your transfer application has completed. Likewise, an old name in a third-party response is not enough to diagnose an application failure. Keep the application receipt separate from the vehicle report.
| Check | Purpose | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| RC record | Compare the available vehicle and registration fields | Vehicle Details RC lookup |
| Transfer application | Follow an application you submitted | Official vehicle services and application reference |
| Updated certificate | Confirm the registered details after completion | The certificate issued through the registering authority |
Use the ownership-transfer process for a sale
mParivahan’s normal-sale guidance identifies Form 29 for reporting the transfer and Form 30 for the transfer application. Requirements differ with the transaction and jurisdiction; check the current official instructions for your case.
Start from Parivahan, choose the relevant vehicle service and follow the current application-status instructions. Save the acknowledgement and payment reference. Vehicle Details does not submit transfer applications, accept government fees or issue a replacement certificate.
Keep a small comparison checklist
Make notes of the exact difference rather than saying only that the transfer is not showing. For example: the official application has a reference, but the available lookup still displays an earlier ownership field. That helps the relevant support team understand which system needs attention.
- Vehicle number on the certificate, application and sale documents.
- Application reference and submission date.
- Names and vehicle details shown on the issued certificate.
- Any pending request for documents or verification in the official service.
- Your receipt and acknowledgement, kept together.
A financier entry needs its own follow-up
If a closed vehicle loan still appears as a financier or hypothecation entry, ask for the lender’s completion documents and check the official hypothecation-termination process. mParivahan lists Form 35 signed by the owner and financier for this process.
Do not assume that paying off a loan automatically removes every entry from an RC report. Compare the updated certificate after the relevant official process, and ask the registering authority about discrepancies.
Questions about this check
Can Vehicle Details track my transfer application?
The current tool looks up vehicle records. It does not show an application’s processing stages. Use the official application service with your reference.
How long will the transfer take?
Timing depends on the authority, documents and application. Check the official status and local instructions; we do not promise a universal completion period.
