Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Vehicle Details accesses, what we store, and the choices you have. It's written in plain English on purpose.

What we access

• The registration number you search. It's sent to our server, which fetches the public record for that vehicle, then returns it to your browser.
• No personal identity. We don't ask for your name, email, phone or an account to use the lookups.
• Standard server logs. Like most sites, our host may keep short-lived request logs (IP, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention. These are not used to profile you.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't run advertising or cross-site tracking.
• We don't tie searches to an identity or build a profile of you.

Security

Traffic is served over HTTPS. Vehicle lookups are handled entirely on our server, so third-party API keys are never exposed to your browser. Requests for vehicle records and images are protected by a bot challenge and rate limiting, input is validated, and all displayed values are escaped to prevent injection.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to check for automated requests. It processes browser and network signals; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Our rate limiter stores hashed network identifiers and request counters in Upstash Redis for up to 24 hours. These counters do not contain registration numbers or vehicle records. Recent searches and vehicle images are saved in your browser; you can clear your recent searches from the search pages.

Vehicle data

Vehicle Details displays publicly available vehicle records and does not create or modify that data. To correct a record, contact the relevant issuing authority directly.

• No account to delete — we don't hold a profile of you.
• Data correction — handled by the relevant issuing authority.

Changes

If this policy materially changes, we'll update the date above and note it on the site.
