Insurance and PUC validity: check the dates, then the documents

Read available insurance and PUC expiry dates in an RC report, distinguish missing fields from expired documents, and confirm details with the official sources.

Where to find insurance and pollution-certificate details

Search your vehicle number on RC Details and open the insurance and PUC sections in the returned report. Depending on the record, you may see the insurer, policy reference and validity dates. Not every field is available for every vehicle.

Copy the relevant date into your own reminder system only after checking it against the document. Vehicle Details does not currently send renewal reminders, renew insurance or issue a pollution certificate.

  • Registration number matches the insured or tested vehicle.
  • Insurer or certificate details match your documents where shown.
  • The expiry date is readable and matches the current version.
  • A recent renewal is confirmed by the issuing service rather than assumed from the overview.

Insurance, PUC and RC validity are separate checks

A date in one section does not settle the others. For example, an insurance date does not tell you whether a PUC certificate is current. Read each field separately rather than treating a single green label as a complete document check.

Insurance, PUC and RC validity are separate checks
RecordWhat to compare
InsuranceCurrent policy, vehicle details, dates and cover terms from the insurer.
PUCCurrent pollution certificate and its stated validity.
RegistrationRC details and registration validity from the registering authority.
Fitness, tax or permitThe relevant record for the vehicle class; it is not a substitute for the other documents.

What to do when a field is missing or appears outdated

A blank field means that information was not supplied in the result. It is not a finding that you have no insurance or no PUC certificate. Similarly, an older date in a provider response is a reason to compare the renewal document, not to disregard it.

For insurance, check the current policy through your insurer. For a PUC certificate, start from the official Parivahan PUC service and follow its current lookup requirements. Registration discrepancies belong with the registering authority.

Keep a useful document record

Store the current document and its reference together, with the vehicle number and expiry date. A screenshot of a third-party result may help you remember a check, but it does not replace the policy or certificate.

Before a used-vehicle purchase, ask the seller for the current documents and compare them with the report. Confirm any transfer or renewal requirements with the issuer; this page does not determine insurance cover or legal eligibility for your particular vehicle.
